Job titles of an Agriculturist
  1. Minimum H.S.C passed from Science discipline in the year of 2016 or later with minimum GPA 3.0 and total GPA of S.S.C and H.S.C minimum 6.50.
  2. Diploma background (MATS/IHT/Agriculture/ Forestry/Food) should be passed in the year of 2016 or later with minimum GPA 2.40 and total GPA of S.S.C and Diploma  minimum 6.00

Graduates from the Faculty of Agriculture join BCS as Upazila agriculture extension officers. At the present time a large number of Agriculture graduates joining in general quota. The very favorite place jobs for the agriculture graduates are government agricultural research institutions. Institutions are: Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture Research, Bangladesh Rice Research Institute, Bangladesh Sugarcane Research Institute, Bangladesh Cotton Research Institute, Soil Research Development Institute, Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, Bangladesh Forest Research Institute and Bangladesh Tea Research Institute.Many Agriculturists are working at the development organizations. Agriculturists are working in Bangladesh Rural Development Board, Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development, Rural Development Academy, Bangladesh Scientific and Industrial Research Council. Graduates of the Faculty of Agriculture are also employed at the public and private banks. This number continues to rise. Agriculturists are getting better access for employment in Bangladesh Krishi Bank and RajshahiKrishiUnnayan Bank.

      In addition, Agriculturists are working in the fertilizer factories, sugar mills, seed certification agency, pesticide factory, BRAC, the British American Tobacco company.

      Welcome to the Department of Agriculture at Anowara College of Bio Science!Bangladesh is mainly depended on agriculture for her economy. Agriculture is the backbone of Bangladesh.   About 60-70% people depends on agriculture. Agriculture is the main source of our countries economy. It comprises about 16.33% to GDP in the 2013-14 FY and 60% of the total labor force. Approximately 15% of the total remittance comes from by exports agricultural product.

      Agriculture is one of the ancient and basic productive sectors of human activity. Food production and conservation are inextricably linked as they provide the raw material to down the line industries and help in poverty alleviation. Agriculture sector contributes. The Department of Agriculture is one of the largest departments of ACBS with a mission to produce trained and skilled work force, having focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Under the umbrella of Anowara College of Bio Science, Departments of Soil Science, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Extension, Crop physiology and Ecology, Plant Pathology, Horticulture and Agroforestry offer B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture. The Department of Agriculture is equipped with highly qualified staff, latest equipments and farm land to cater the needs/research requirements of students and staff in the field of agriculture. The faculty is promoting collaborations with national and international universities that would be a great benefit to the students and staff to exchange innovations with different countries.

      The Department of Agriculture has an energetic and highly-motivated complement of friendly staff with a wide range of expertise and research interests. We offer an exciting and enriching experience for both students and staff as they work together to achieve our training and educational goals while fostering their individual development. We have strong links with several institutions and organizations that collaborate with us to conduct research and deliver quality education to our students through guest lectures, field trips and attachments. Field trips and attachments not only provide students with valuable practical exposure that enhances their learning and social skills, but also add some fun and adventure to make the university experience wholesome and enjoyable.
